Surgery consultations are by appointment.  Appointments are usually 10 minutes and may be booked by telephone or by calling in to the surgery in person.  Our telephone lines are open from 08:00 until 18:30, the phone lines will be closed every day between 12:00 & 13:00. The surgery doors open at 08:30 am

The practice offers patients continuity of care so appointments will be booked with your regular doctor, unless they are not available. All clinic times are variable between the hours of 08:30 and 18:30.  If you speak to one of the receptionists, they will be more than happy to let you know the clinic times for your doctor.

In an emergency requiring a doctor straight away, please make this completely clear to the receptionist, e.g. collapse. You may wish to telephone the ambulance at the same time.

In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.

Many problems can be dealt with by your doctor on the telephone rather than by a surgery consultation. The receptionist can always leave a message asking your doctor to call you back if he or she is not free to speak to you immediately. Our practice nurses may also be able to give advice by telephone.

If you are unable to get to the surgery during our opening hours, we are currently holding Saturday clinics for pre-booked non-urgent appointments.  These clinics are held between 08:40 and 12:15. To book one of these appointments, contact reception during our opening hours and they will be able to do this for you.

It is usually quicker to be seen in surgery but if you are not well enough to attend and need a home visit please try to telephone before 11:00 on weekdays so that we can plan our house calls. Sick babies and children will always be seen as soon as possible and it is usually safe and quicker to come to the surgery. We have a side room if you are worried about infectious illness.

Please remember that seeing people in the surgery enables your doctor to use time more effectively. When requesting a home visit please be willing to provide details to assess the urgency of the call. If you are in doubt as to whether a visit is necessary you are welcome to telephone your doctor.
